Alamo City Comic Con
Alamo City Comic Con is a comic book fan convention that is annually held in San Antonio, Texas. Starting in 2013, it is currently the largest convention in San Antonio with about 34,000 attendees in 2013. It is also one of the fastest growing conventions in the United States, with about 73,000 attendees in 2014.
==History==
Although the city of San Antonio currently hosts an anime convention named San Japan, there was no comic book convention at the time. Fans would have to travel to Dallas, Texas or Houston, Texas in order to visit comic book artists. In 2013, Apple de la Fuente planned to start a massive convention in the city. With the help of former SA city councilman and current State Rep. Diego Bernal, the three-day convention managed to attract 34,000 people. The convention managed to nearly double its numbers in 2014, making it one of the largest comic book conventions in the country. Current estimates put 2015 attendance numbers at between 90,000 and 100,000.
On September 13th 2015, Manu Bennet was taken into custody at 4:30 am, shortly after a late-night event hosted by the convention.
